OK I finally found one of those simple angle finders ....what you would use on a head tube to see where your bike is sitting. So I decided to measure all sorts of stuff on my bike. Mind you it was late and I wasn't being super exact in my measurements. How do these compare to your rigs? Real #'s you took, not what crap the manufacturer puts on it's web site.

1999ish Rotec Pro DH

Chain stay - 17 3/4"

Stand over - 31"
Head Tube - 5"
Handlebar width - 28"
Stem length - 1 1/2"
Head angle - 66 degrees
Seat angle - 63-64 degrees (right in the middle-kinda)
Axle to crown on a 2003 Boxxer Race - 21 1/5" Very sketchy number

2003 Spec HardRock Pro Disk
BB height - 11 1/2"
CS - 16 3/4"

WB - 42 3/8"
Stand over - 30 3/4"

NORCAL is the hizzle
I thought this thread was about pick-up lines for bike geeks...

"Hey baby, howz about I chase and face your bottom bracket?"

:D

Anyway, 66 or so for me.

But ah, does this help much without knowing more about our bikes (how much travel, etc.?)

Yes, in a way. I'm just trying to get the average HAs. I figured they were in the mid 60s to LOW 70s, and I think I was pretty much right on :)

70 or above is XC range, definitely. classic XC geometry is 71ha/71sa, a little slacker in recent years

no frickin' clue. It steers like a schoolbus, so I'm gonna go with "slack".
I think thats just you not be able to turn to the left off the RT and falling to your death :p.

Mines slack enough but not to slack and steep enough but not to steep.

A little steep cause my bike is for "extreme fr" not DH
and it has a shiver in place of an '03 monster
