I'm a global client operations manager for a web-based procurement application. I also dabble in real estate on the side. Both are super flexible and pay well... but going to slow down a bit for the spring/summer/fall to enjoy life...:)

Network Technician for a casino. I monitor 1,324 slot machines, cash registers and PC'sthroughout the day and help repair them if they malfunction. I also travel to the other casinos in the state where my company's software is used and help install new machines and get them up on our network. Generally it's a pretty slow job as thing seldom break, but when things crash the sh*t hits the fan.

Right now my job is technical support for a web design / web builder company called SpinSite. I work with my aunt. If she wasn’t here I would enjoy the job probably 10x more. Tomorrow is my last day here.

I start my new job working at Rocket Mobile. They do cell phone applications and software. They actually work with Verizon and Motorola and a bunch of other companies. They designed the text/video/picture messaging software on all of the new phone models. I am going to be a Software QA Technician for them. I love QA jobs. No more people to deal with. 6 hour salary work days. I am stoked.

Weren't you a tow truck driver recently or something like that? I thought you hung up your keyboard?
You are correct, sir. When I went back to school to finish my BS and was suffering the post bubble job market (circa 2003), I was tired of working on bad software projects and questioned what it was i was doing with myself.

I took a job driving a tow truck for 6 months and it was ok. I had a lot of fun and learned some cool stuff because I was the owners pet project. I got to do some fab work and learn all about hydro systems and repair, but it only paid $10 an hour plus 15% commission with 3 days on 24 hour call. It was a nice break, but it was a waste of my skills :D

I have since returned to software, but with a different outlook, better skills, and I am very picky about what projects I work on. I have sworn off most things Microsoft and try and focus on Java based projects.

Mechanical Engineering Technician. Which means basically, I take all the projects that the engineers design, and build them and test them to various states of failure. I also do some design work along with that so I get to build what I design, then blow it up as well. I love what I do now, it beats the **** out of doing CAD work all day every day for sure. Plus I ride my P2 around the plant to my various projects I have going. Just one added little 'plus'.

Purchasing agent / quote specialist for one of the worlds largest Corperations. in charge of spare parts for 28 manufactuing locations worldwide. Bike shop owner. The Corperate gig sucks, but it offers great pay and insurance. The bike shop is in a crappy location and is just a labor of love for the sport. One day I hope to wuit working 18 hours a day and retire to just running the shop. only 12 more years to go!!!

Table games supervisor/pit boss/pit bull/dealer scheduler. I work at a small casino in Stateline, NV, just off the shores of South Lake Tahoe. The downside is dealing (no pun intended) with all the folks that lose their money and bitch about it (hey, I don't see a seat belt on the chair you're sitting on, so get up and leave if you don't like losing--haha) or get too drunk to remember where they're at. The upside is the location and the riding on my days off or before work. And, if any of the dealers tick me off, I get to mess with their schedule for the next week until they shape up. But really, it is a great job in a beautiful area.

I have 9/10ths of a degree in Exercise Science, one of these days I will finish a get a grown up job.
What I ask, is does your job define who you are, or is it just what you do to pay the bills? I had this discussion with some friends the other day. For me, it is simply what I do now, between gyms and semesters (Albeit a very long semester break!). I enjoy it, but if they told me tomorrow I had to go, it wouldnt kill me.

Production Engineer: I take designers poorly executed ideas and figure out how to build them and how much it will cost.

I liked it alot more when I was the one coming up with the stupid designs and making someone else build it...karma I guess.

Now let me guess-- IF you mean the shores of Lake Tahoe (Lake-space-side), then yes, we are near the Lake. IF, however, you mean the Lakeside (no space) Hotel/Casino, well then, we're in what's considered the "main casino corridor" on Highway 50. That being said, it's been narrowed down to 5 possible locations, and I'll give you a hint- we do not have hotel rooms. Which means your guess would be ???????
