BTW that bike was really awesome, had plenty of travel for XC and most trailriding, was light as hell, and handled better than any bike I have ever owned on the singletrack... so, its good that it hasnt changed much :thumb:

Ahhh but it has changed Golgi - the Jamis Dakar series bikes no longer feature the chainstay pivot (horst link) like they used to. I think Jamis argues that the stable platform shocks of today negate the need for it, but I think the Big S finally caught up with them somehow and they were forced to change - either that or it was just cheaper for them to make the frames with seatstay pivots vs. chainstay pivots.

I think 2003 Dakars were the last year they used the chainstay pivots.
