I am thinking about ditching my 888 and going for a 666...anyone know when they will be out and what they will cost?

As far as the original question goes, the 66 is part of the 2005 lineup. Doesn't Marz. usually release their next year's goodies around Interbike time or shortly thereafter?

in da shed, mon, in da shed
And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. 12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. 15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. 16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

I saw a 66 at Whistler this weekend, but I didn't have a chance to ask the guy if it was a prototype (which I would assume it was).

Zark & Slayer... That seems like such an odd combo....

As for the 66, I would expect to start seeing them November or December... But I have heard a firm delivery date as of yet...

I saw a few of the new Zoke single crowns at Whistler and a few on the north shore. I was told it is a 7" single crown with a 1 1/8. Does anyone have the scoop? Is it 6" or 7" or are there both?

Zoke has made 6" single crowns for a while now, the z150 and z150 sl. The sl is the slightly lighter air-sprung version.

The 66 is a 7" single crown but I don't know if it will have adjustable travel or be offered in a 6" version. I hope it'll have adjustable travel or at least ETA or some other rebound lockdown for climbing but I don't know.

All zokes are 1 1/8 and the company has said they will never make a 1.5. That's the last I heard anyway.

The 66 will come in 170mm (6.69") and 150mm (5.9") travel versions.
I assume the name "66" has something to do with the 6.6 inches of travel.
Is Mountainbike Action's censoring policy responsible for the fork not being called the "666"? That name would be badass, I'll have to doctor up some stickers when I get one.

F-Mountain Bike Action. They are a bunch of washed up idiots. I'd line em up and shoot em. Jerks. If I was Marzocchi (although not a smart marketing move) I'd tell MBA to GPFS. F***K THEM. Marz would probably have better luck advertising on the Monkey and other sites than that stupid as* magazine. Yeah I still read it, well look at the pictures. I love how they nitpick everything. They suck.

MBA sucks. True story: I was on a camping trip and found out it's not even good for wiping your ass.

They love everything made by one of their advertisers, and come up with totally random conclusions with no basis in fact or reason. Plus they have this reputation as dh experts, but they consistenly get xc guys to test big-travel bikes. WTF? No problem with xc, but when you read about how the test riders wouldn't hit the drops at Northstar you've got to wonder how they got their gigs, and how useful the reviews are.

But like any junkie I look at it if I see one laying around.

Not to hijack the thread or anything. :D

case in point, a few months ago they were suggesting the dorado was the end-all DH fork and suggesting it to everybody who wrote the magazine...it may be a good fork, I like TPC, but they were being flat out biased on it, no doubt. The latest mag I picked up critisizes the 888 as being "harsh" at small impacts and ripples...now given marzocchis reputation and the way they design forks, I find this extremely hard to believe...same old same old with MBA.

I still dont get 26. I have a new copy and i'd say its 80% non XC. Wasnt this supposed to be the trail/XC mag? Not that i really care to read a bunch of XC articles and bike reviews,. i just think its odd. Declines hoochi mama pics also have seemed to , well, decline....

And about MBA.... is it true e-13 is because they wouldnt print anything with evil on it?? Thats the story i always hear anyways....another urban myth??

CAUTION, HIGHJACKED THREAD!
MBA. Check out Adrenaline's ad. Look at the Mountain Cycles. They can't even print the word "Sin", they changed it to "Siney". (My shorter travel Sin has a custom sticker that says 6point66.)
You know KHS? They have all those bikes with cool names, Dominatrix, Fetish, Witch Doctor, Rigid One, and Bitch. There are alternative names given to them in MBA ads.
I guess they want to make sure they make it into heaven.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! And even thier alternative names wont get them into heaven.

I hope MBA is reading this thread.
P.S. I am really looking forward to the 666 fork coming out even though I would prefer a dual crown type fork with 7inches travel. I would worry about it snapping with my hack goon riding style!

A dual crown type fork with 7inches, and you like the 66(6)?

Too bad Marzocchi doesn't make a 7" 888.

Oh wait, they do!

I hope they are too. They're nothing but a bunch of stuck up pompus asss mommas boys that are still sucking on their mommas tit. Bunch of frign fossilized washed up wana be freeriders that are in complete denial of
the fact that they are just average losers who've succumb to the evils of marketing, hype, etc and are so far from being unbiased that you don't know which end the bullsheit is coming out of, their asss or their mouth. And yes, I sincerely hope they phucking die.

You all know darn well that MBA appeals to the nitwits who buy $4500 Ellisworth's since their $85,000 hummer came with a rack and they didn't have anything to put up there. Anybody without a single skill or any concern for the sport would find MBA to be quite informative and entertaining. Reading MBA is the only thing that makes certain guys hardcore. MBA doesn't publish magazines to inform people, they do it to make money, either by selling advertisements or by selling subscriptions, by appealing the poser market they can sell a lot more of both. To appeal to the poser market they have to write the way they do. You see they're meeting their business goals.

Decline sux.
Its like soft porn mixed with pix of bikes and racing.
Worst Mag ever.

MBA does have some pretty wrong stuff printed but compared to the other MTB mags its miles ahead. As far as product reveiws go they are light years ahead of most mags. You yankees should read DIRT or MBUK now those have crappy worthless reviews. They pretty much copy and paste the marketing BS from the manufactuer and put in in the review.

MBA deserves some credit very few Mags will slam a crappy product but MBA do this if they believe a product is crap.
