Some of those were new construction too.

When looking for a house I checked out one that was being built. Great piece of lakefront property. But the house was crap. Slab had not been poured in the basement yet and all the support columns were placed directly on dirt. When I went upstairs I put a pen on the floor and it quickly rolled to the center of the house. Not more than a few months old and the support columns settled enough to make the whole house sag.
