So the thing is, I like winter here more than summer. I don't like winter more than summer overall, but here, you can go so many more places in the winter. Rivers become highways and routes for exploring. Lakes and swamps. Snowmachine tracks you can ride in. Frozen crust where you can ride anywhere (that's spring, but sometimes it happens out of cycle). People are able to put together big through-ski routes with lots of good snow. There are some good summer trails...but just not that many of them. Summer gets overgrown so damn fast that unless the trails are getting cut back by the land-managers (which for the most part, they are not), it just becomes a shit show a few weeks after they are ridable. Fighting the vegetation eternally gets tiring, at least when it grows back so damn fast.
