He's up and at it early today, started moving over 4 hours ago, "only" 54 miles to the turnaround point.

34 miles to the turnaround and the lead riders coming back in the opposite direction toward him before too long.

That's why I ask. Way I read the website is that the full 1000 was cancelled due to wanting to keep the Rona out of the communities along the route. Participants were given the option of an entry for next year, a drop to the out and back, or a withdraw. I was curious what @Jm_'s original plan had been.

given the remoteness of some of those communities that makes an awful lot of sense

Looks like @Jm_ is on the move to turn around point, with about 32 miles left.

Meanwhile those two crazy fucks outfront are already turned around and at the 273 mile point.

Kate Coward almost made it to the furthest checkpoint, but looks like she got evacuated or something? I'm guessing she got to about 175ish miles and then backtracked to the Puntilla and then b-lined it to Anchorage - helicopter ride? :( https://trackleaders.com/iti21i.php?name=Kate_Coward

her status is scratched and there was a ping at the anchorage airport so i'd say yes.

The only weather report I can find is for the Skwentna region, which currently has it a nice mild 6 freedums and clear skies.

Hes 4 miles from the turn around point. Hopefully he takes a nice nap and a sip from his flask there. Looks like a wicked climb out.

Those two other guys are now less than 40 miles from the finish line. Dayum.

Hopefully there's plenty of firewood and a warm fire already going at the cabin as he's made it.

Yeah, I noticed he'd turned around early, but still ridden all the way back. He turned around just before the high point which then has the decent to the turn around. Maybe he was low on supplies and decided to head back to the earlier drop point?

8 miles to the Finger Lake checkpoint, likely his rest stop for the night.
