Does anyone have any actual word on when maxxis will be selling these, chase and company have been on them for at least over a year, and they are being sold in Australia :mumble: . I want a pair! So can someone update me on the status...thanks
Pisses me off. I've run them on my 20" for years now and waiting fot the big version is killing me. I need new rubber but won't buy it until these bad boys are available.
LOL! I guess Holly would be better the Holey????
funny typo.
I think they are on sale now? I saw I guy buy a pair at my LBS yesterday 26" x 3.0" same pattern at least.
The shop manager also runs 'em or something that has the same tread.
EDIT:
My bad, these weren't maxxis tires but had the same reverse style tread pattern.

Speaking of secret Maxxis proto tires, a little bird told us the Wet Scream is available to pro racers in a 2.5 right now. Traction and a big casing in Vermont, anyone?

Holy Rollers come in 26x2.4", I'm running a pair on my bike right now
Personally, I'd rather them be a narrower, lower profile tyre, like 26"x1.9", a similar width to the BMX tyre. My only gripe is the tread blocks are a bit bigger than what I'd like, so the tyres tend to buzz a bit. That said, it means they have ample grip for loose sand on hardpack.
Something I've noticed is how Maxxis scale their tread pattern. Instead of keeping the small, dense, low profile blocks like on the BMX tyres, and made more of them, they just scaled up the size, so there's the same amount of blocks accross the tyre, but they're bigger and deeper. Makes them not as good for hard surfaces, but I guess it increases their bite in softer stuff.
The 26" Holy Roller comes stock on the C'dale Chase 05 bikes. We got them in the shop. Looks good for a street and dirt combo tire. But I'll stick with my HR semislick. Love em'
