equal importance in this case...
I'd get an Easton low-rise Dh bar and a shim to fit it to your 31.8 stem, then...I don't see any other options, but maybe Funn or some other lesser-known company has what you need.

Or run a higher rise bar and a negative-rise stem?? I've done that and it works fine. Even looks sorta cool...

do easton even make a 710mm 'low rise' in a 25.4 ???

i don t want to spend drazy money for a carbon bar... 40 - 60 bucks - sure

31.8 isn t essential, 1" rise and full 710 width are... any other suggestions :monkey:s

The Easton lo-rise bars are 710, and as far as I can tell the only option. Shims work fine on 31.8 stems, so don't sweat it, and afterall 25.4 is BETTER...

You don't have to compromise.
I have the Holzfeller and it exactly like what you want.
1" rise 28" wide 31.8
It rides great and feels kind of flat on the ends.
It does not have alot of backsweep in case that is something that you need.

25.4 being better clearly isn't a "new" line of thinking by any stretch of the imgaination. Smaller diam. bars damp vibration better, are more than stiff enough, and have a proven track record. `100% of the 31.8 bars I've used have felt like crap, even from companies whose bars I usually like. I'm hoarding new 25.4 gear now as it is clear that down the road the entire bicycle industry will be marching to the beat of the insufferable 31.8 juggernaut.

"juggernaut" is a good word, and I see your point. I run FSA Carbons which dampen vibration very well. But at the price/risk of running carbon bars.

I've actually got a huge gouge in them, took it by the FSA booth at crankworks and they said it looked fine. Just told me to check it every run for stress marks and creaking noises.
Another engineer I met, who breaks carbon for a living told me I didn't have to worry unless it was almost all the way through.

But... check:
www.funnmtb.com
Full On is 30mm rise, 710 width, 25.4 clamp.
Fatboy is 30mm rise, 710 width, 31.8 clamp.

www.eastonbike.com
EC70 has a 1.25" rise, 710 width , 25.4 clamp.

No, I do not have one to sell right now, but that bar should be real easy for any bike shop to get. Good Luck.
