Well I can look at the side of my laptop and see it - however Windows is adamant that it isn't there

I've been having slight 'issues' with the machine for the last couple of weeks so haven't used the drive recently so don't know if this is cause or effect.

Anyone got any ideas on getting it to recognise it's own body parts?
