Did you read past the headline.... what am I saying of course you didn't.

Lets look at the trends... (top row is most recent)
The following tables track the latest polls in the presidential race. In the Trial Heat, respondents were asked for whom they would vote. On Job Approval, they were asked whether they approve or disapprove of Bush's performance. On Re-Elect, they were asked whether Bush deserves to be reelected or not. On Right Direction, they were asked whether things are going in the right direction or are on the wrong track. On Favorable Rating, they were asked whether they have a favorable or unfavorable impression of each candidate
Trial Heat - Bush (-3), Kerry (+2)
Job Approval for Bush - No update, previous week +1, -1 (basically a draw)
Re-Elect - YES (-3), NO (+3)
Right Direction/Wrong Track - +1, -1 ... previous week +5, -3 (not as strong)
Favorable rating - Bush (-3 favorable, +4 Unfavorable) Kerry (+3 Favorable, -2 unfavorable)

Since it is 207 to 170, with 161 in the swing section, and Bush's trend is that his numbers are weakening...this gives me hope tha Kerry can pull it off after all.

Thank you N8, I feel better.

No problem-o... the poll was from SLATE after all.

Problem is that Bush is widening his lead in states that were "barely Kerry" and adding to his lead in states that were "barely Bush."

We might be seeing more of a Geo. Bush 1 vs. Du-ka-ka-is when the final election numbers are tabulated.

So what's to debate here? Or are you just wishing polls counted for the actual vote? You have to see how the debates pan out (unless Bush dodges them too). Then you'll get a better "guess"(polls) of what's happening.

i watched Saving Private Ryan yesterday N8 your threads are starting to scare me more and more. Your so on the bandwagon of your boyfriend you remind me of the german who was speaking on the loudspeaker in the french town "De Statue of Liberty ist kaput!!!"

The race may be tightening. A new poll from the Pew Research Center said the “bounce” that seemed to propel Bush to a lead just after the Republican convention had disappeared.

In polling from Sept. 8-10, Bush was ahead by 52-40 percent among registered voters and 54-39 percent among likely voters. But in follow-up polling from Sept. 11-14, the center found the race 46-46 among registered voters and 47-46 Bush among likely voters.
