Is anyone into racing anymore? Specifically DH and MtnX. What about a new comp at these events - "slopestyle" - a combo of ramps, jumps, berms, walls and rails on a timed/judged format - X games style.

In theory awesome. Without any judges or the like. Pure expression only.

I can see it now, a buch of judges sitting on their fat never-been-a-rider-never-will-be UCI bums and working out points of difficulty, then ignoring the best rider and voting for the one they were bribed to vote for. Remember the winter olympics and figure skating?

I'm all for purity, time is the only real decider. Judged events are best left figure skating, ball room dancing and diving.

best judging format...

is the riders being the judges
they know who rode best, they know how hard each trick/line/jump was, so they should decide

i've seen it done before, and it works
this way the riders who lost can't complain that the judges sucked, ya know?

I think it's the only way
