Rubber or Aluminum...Thats the question I had to ask myself today. I went for a ride today up at UC. Short ride, about 40 minutes. Got home and cleaned up the bikes and saw this...

Its about 1/8 MAYBE a 1/4 of an inch deep.


Looks like its been going for a while, Wish I would have noticed earlier. Seems to me, that I'm in the market for a new frame.

Yep...it happens. Aluminum is stronger and wears slower, but there is alot more rubber to be rubbing by.

be careful with that. A lot of chainstays and seatstays have thicker walls than you'd expect, but that does not mean it won't give out on you. Stay safe and keep your wheels in true.
