In just the last few days..

Coal switch (flip flop):

great rope line video from Joe Biden's recent Ohio swing, where he was asked by an anti-pollution campaigner about clean coal -- a controversial approach in Democratic circles for which Obama has voiced support, particularly during the Kentucky primary.

Biden's apparent answer: He supports clean coal for China, but not for the United States.

"No coal plants here in America," he said. "Build them, if they're going to build them, over there. Make them clean."

"We’re not supporting clean coal," he said of himself and Obama. They do, on paper, support clean coal.
AIG flip flop

Lauer was talking about how Obama hit Sen. McCain for flip-flopping on the AIG bailout -- saying he opposed it one day then announce he supported it the next day.

But, as Lauer pointed out, scarcely three minutes after McCain said he opposed the AIG bailout last week, "in an interview with Meredith Vieira, Joe Biden, your running mate was asked the exact same question, 'should the federal government bailout AIG?' And he said, 'No, the federal government should not bailout AIG.'" (As we noted at the time.) "And I think that in that situation," Obama said, "I think Joe should have waited as well."

"But it's the kind of thing that drives people crazy about politics," Lauer said. "It sounds like you were trying to score some political points against John McCain using his words, when your own running mate had used very similar words."
Disagrees with own campaign.

The Delaware Senator took issue with an attack ad from his own side in an interview with CBS, telling Katie Couric that the Obama hit on McCain’s ignorance of computers and technology was “terrible.”

Looks like the expectations that Senator Windbag would eventually be a liability are possible coming to be.

The only thing I want to see Biden do is debate Palin into the ground.
i did see that the format is for the debates is going to be pretty open and allow the candidates to directly question each other, something that wasnt allowed during the bush debates if i recall. im pretty pumped on that one.

Joe Biden's denunciation of his own campaign's ad to Katie Couric got so much attention last night that another odd note in the interview slipped by.

He was speaking about the role of the White House in a financial crisis.

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed," Biden told Couric. "He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'"

As Reason's Jesse Walker footnotes it: "And if you owned an experimental TV set in 1929, you would have seen him. And you would have said to yourself, 'Who is that guy? What happened to President Hoover?'"

I think he needs to get "on message", but he will be a better VP than Palin, because at he has an opinion.

He reminds me of Charles Barkley, who means well, runs his mouth too much, but is not as stupid as people think.

Or he is exactly as stupid as people think, or even more so. I do not speculate. Like all politicians we have to take them at what they say basically until we get the brain scan devices installed. Muhahahaha.

1) When did I say that?
2) Do you think the gaff machine Biden is gonna really not say anything stupid?

Well, you said good stuff, so I assumed that you think the results will be good. The structure of the debate is structured strictly enough that the chances of a gaffe go way down.

Uh, no, we can also take them at what they have done.

For example, many people said Bush was not as stupid as he sounded. However, we needed only look at his exemplary record of failing at school, failing at military, and running every private venture he touched into the ground to confirm he was, in fact, dangerously idiotic. We still elected him twice, which of course points to evidence that despite what the public says, they are even stupider than they sound.

Depends on which part of the crash you are looking at... Black Tuesday (dow 380-250)occured during Hoover's presidency, but the larger part of the slide, from 290 to 45 occured under roosevelts watch.

Get your history straight and the facts will make sense. Biden, although he said TV's instead of radio's, is correct.

Biden will not be able to falcon punch her the way he should because it will immediately be spun as "picking on the chick".

Look at some of the crap Charlie Gibson got for asking relevant questions..

Do you honestly think that Palin is better at debating than Biden? Palin can't do 1 on 1 interviews that well, even with Hannity doing it.
sadly, i concur

i recall the outrage was over out-of-context & mischaracterizations of what palin had said. other caterwauling is indeed thin-skinned reactions from palin fanboiz
