What is the weather like then? What conditions are the trails in? Mainly A-Line is what im wondering about but same with Garbonzo and the Whistler and World Cup downhill. I think those are the dates im planen on. Any help?
I was there july 8-18 this past season it rained one or two times but was dry but i think some people out there would consider it tacky. It was hot but not to bad since not much humidity but definetly as stated they had insane brake chatter bumps in the berms which sucked.
Being on-site Roasted knows what he's talking about...except maybe his memory is a little fuzzy. I rode Whistler first week of June this year and we had rain half the time we were there, including a few days where many of the best trails were closed (Dirt Merchant, A-Line, clown shoes, etc.).
I've only been there a couple times, June this year, August last year. Both times there were braking bumps everywhere, for whatever that's worth. Still way fun, even in rain.
Memory is fuzzy...I didn't ride whistler mountain till july. I was commenting on whistler in general as I rode only valley at that point. I don't remember it being wet at all..damn early summer pot smoking month...arg...oh and even if I rode the mountain a lot in june, i couldn't comment on a-line. I ride a-line like once a week. Not exactly what I would call an a-line expert by any means. The only section I really like in a-line is Hornet.
BRake bumps are gonna happen. They will never go away. But in july, I think, they did a clean up which helped a lot. June from what I hear is the worst time for the brake bumps as it is after the rainy part when beginners are braking through everything cause of how damp it is. I just remember that 1st week of july was nutty hot in the valley. Could barely stand to wear my full face haha
Thats really hard to call. Right now looks like it might be a wet year. But weather in bc is so up and down, trying to remotely predict june is really hard. Heck I would only offer a guess in May but even then could be completely wrong.
From everything I've heard from buddies that live up there (squam and whistler), mid July to early August is pretty much the safest best for dry weather but it also gets hot. Personally I'd rather be hot and dry so that works for me.

October ROCKED! ... Sorry that didnt help yor post, but i had to say it..... I heard from some friends that went early last season that the conditions were good overall, (not so worked), but that the gushy spots before and after jumps still existed, and killed some fun. Really its a crap shoot until we see how long winter is. And yea, roasted is the man for up to the minute conditions , i know he's helped me many o' time.
Traditionally, summer in Whistler begins about July 21st. The past two years, however, summer started in April. Six week periods of very little rain most of the summer through September made for really dusty, dry trail conditons. Lack of rain causes the compact dirt on A-line to break down and we get the wicked brake bumps and pot holes. You can't really predict how June will go but if you want to better your chances for no rain and not too dried out, I'd say sometime in early to mid July.
