Anyone out there rent a DH at Whistler this summer? Last year they were renting Kona Joyrides. These were apparently stinkies rebadged for Whistler. I rented one of them, and thought I was a great bike. Managed to keep up with the gang pretty well.

Just wondering what was on the plate for this summer. :nuts:

kona garbanzo: seems to be a stinky primo, more or less. super t up front. e-13 guide.
kona garbanzo se: same, add in a 888 up front.

i think both? have funky d max-like wheels which i've heard to be not quite the same as either the '04 or '05 models.

You spend much time in Whistler?

not really. went up to blackcomb to bike in '94, made another trip this summer for a dozen days (9 riding days thanks to injuries ), going up again for a few days next week.

I used a couple of the Stab Garbanzo rentals for a couple of days this summer. Toshi got it right as far as the spec.

They were in great shape and if you had any problems you were encouraged to bring it back and trade it for another one. As far as rental bikes go, they were by far the best I've ever seen anywhere.
