What're the biek shops in whistler village like, I presume there's plenty. Prices good/bad?

I need a new helmet - looking at buying a Giro Mad Max 2 2004 for £125 in the UK = $312CDN. Would it be cheaper to wait until I get there?

Cheers :)

While the shops in the village are usually a bit steep, $320 CDN for a madmax is really steep. I say one at Cove (not in Whistler) for $220 CDN which is a little more than what they retail for in the states given the current exchange rate. I saw a lot of them in the village shops. You could probably get a better deal.

Just seen they're selling for $99US at jensonUSA, I can't believe how much we get ripped off in the UK - retail is £150 over here (=$275US)!!!

Right, think I wont buy before I come out, I'm sure I can find something in a shop in whistler village for less than $300CDN - maybe even a troy lee?!

No...don't buy in the village. (unless you get the bro card mentioned in the other thread)...make a stop in vancouver to johnhenry bikes OR Cove bikes. You will save tonnes and get more selection.

And troy lee's I think I have seen for 550cdn.

Which is surprisingly not much less than they cost over here. Not like that half price mad max anyway :) Mad max is the sensible choice :)
