ive gone two years in a row, great experince, awesome riding, relative value if you need to fly into whislter, cool guys, cool coaches.

If you are really comfortable on your bike bring it, but consider renting, a dually is really nice mostly for comfort, a hardtail kicks your ass there.

You will progress a lot and ride with some cool people, id defantly recomend it.

i have gone 3 years running. it is the best. i am in the 18 and over crowd. they have one week a year where they let us play. the first two years, they let us in the camp with the groms. this year, they had a camp just for "adults." i gotta say that both arrangements were fun. the kids ride hard and push the big kids to ride harder. the people there are riders of varying skills - from beginner to OH MY GAWD! the coaches are all great too. shandro has the right idea and has brought in a bunch of good people to work with you. by the end of the first day, you feel like life-long friends with the campers and coaches.

6 days of riding is A LOT OF RIDING. a full-sus rig is very helpful for your knees and ankles. even guys with the dualy's get tired and beat up by the end of the week. i saw a few guys try to rock the hardtail last year, and they survived, but were worn by the last day. some of the trails are very flowy and a hardtail is fine (a-line, dirt merchant, golden triangle). however, you will want to ride the garbanzo trails at the top. lots of roots and rocks to punish you. the good thing about whistler is, you can rent any rig you want in town. the most common players in the rental game seem to be kona (stinkys) and banshee (chaps). i have seen rental places where you can get an m1 w/ a dorado.

hope this helps.

ya pretty cool it will only set you back like 2 grand. If I go id just ride no need for someone to tell me what to do, and id wanna ride something other than the mountain.

Yea I been there two years in a row now. First in the kids and no the 18 and over. I have to say the 18 and over was the best, due to little more freedom and they have the chance to do cooler things with yes, such as people went riding off the mountian to local trails, we did a heli drop which goes down in something to rember for life book, hang out at the bar with the pros. Diffenitly go with a dual sup, save you the soreness through out the week. O yea the we have a little video of the heli drop at www.rbikes.com

That heli drop was one of the best rides of my life - I still look at the pics and wish I was back there :)

Gravity Camp was great - I am going again next year for sure! It wasn't cheap, but everything was taken care of and it was well worth it.

Adrenalinerush, we're you the guy that ovalized the HT on his M-Pire?

I can't wait to ride Morland's trail from the collective. I'm not sure I can wait until August to go up there, tho.

Tehy wouldnt let us ride morlands trail when we were there, no matter how much we begged.

$2000 bucks is not cheap. It would be a money filled camp though. Im jelious of all you people who have gone. Is it better to go in july or august? I heard whistler has a higher rain average in july and it can be wet.

I live in Washington, so although I've never done the camp, I've been there several times. If the camp is as cool as Whistler in general, I would definitely recommend it. However, I know I couldn't last 6 days on a hardtail, especially when riding the technical trails.

That makes sense, plus $2000 is a little steep for the camp, even accounting for a hotel stay. Unfortunately, due to our exchange rate, $2000 Canadian is more like $1600 American, maybe a little more.
