Alright, if you can handle another Whistler post, I put together some quick footage from my visit July 5-10th. Most of the footage is the new stuff on Garbonzo and was about a day and a half after a good rain so it still a bit slippery. I have a couple shots on dirt merchant in near perfect conditions. Also, a few shots of Sanjay rippin' Goat's Gully including a pretty sick rock wall to rock wall gap.

Video is posted on a slow server so be patient. If its a problem, maybe someone else can host. 5MB ~2minutes .wmv format

Enjoy.

911 and myself came out of the woods right after Sanjay bit it on that first jump. He was like, "check this out! This is gonna be cool." And we couldn't quite figure out what he was going to do. Not cause we couldn't see it, but because we couldn't fathom it. Seriously, that film does it no justice. I was burly for sure. You should have seen how he got down, it was almost as impressive. Roll down a steep rock face to a 6 foot to flat huck. His bike is soo beat right now. Ha! I hope it hasn't come aprt on him yet...again.

please no! if that frame makes it through sanjays first whistler
trip . . . . . whew.
Yeah I'd like to speak on behalf of Sanjay's BCD frame.
"Please, PUT ME OUT OF MY MISERY!!!1"

No, just kidding. That frame is really cool, and I saw one of your other riders with his, (he was from texas, cool guy) and it was nowhere near as beat.

I think Sanjay is a good person to have test ride bikes because he will find the frames weaknesses faster than normal people. When I last rode with him a week ago his frame was coming apart at the junction of the seat tube and the top tube. The rivets were very loose. I hope he doesn't destroy his bike before his next race. Plus teh bolt that the shock mounts to was less than straight. Maybe use something stronger than stainless steel next time? :dead:

No offense to the BCD guys on the board but I just don’t see that frame being the optimal tool for sanjay's gnarl (frame just seems so light and fragile, ok maybe im being a little ignorant), but it is a good point about him being a great test rider. Hopefully he wont end up skewered on some carbon fiber shards ;)

sanjay emailed me for a bike to ride. i gave him a frame so he wouldn't have to ride his cracked tazer or iron horse. so far i think my bike is holding up ok.better that both of those. he gets a bike and i get a test rider.

Yeah man good deal, Dont get me wrong i think your bikes are works of art. I just view them as super light race bred machines (is this a correct assumption)? We are getting away from the point though, judging from the vid he killed it at whistler. Rock on

Hey BCD, just out of curiosity, did you have a large number of prototype frame failures, when you were experimenting with different designs? Also, why did you choose carbon fiber instead of aluminum or steel?

manhattanprjkt83: sanjay races his inedible just as hard as he freerides. but yes they are race bikes. that is there intended use. i will fix any thing he breaks but i don't everwant to see that bike again. that is the goal. indestrectable.

tully: i have cracked a few places. i broke some hardtails head tubes off. djing cases are harder on bikes than dhing. i quite making hardtails. never has a dh headtube sheared off. there have been a few swingarms i have had tested broke. bushing the sprung weight limits. i don't want anyone, or myself, to get hurt. i make them to handle the owners load.

i have alway been in my dads shops. he made a lot of facades for carnaval rides from glass, so i did a lot of composite work. i can arc and braize ?sp? but
carbon fiber is in the base of the wave of structural matearls! steel is on the way down and alum is at its peek. in time all light bikes will be composite.

Cool video that I will keep for the cold NYC winter night so I can sit and remember my Whistler trip. I wish I rode Original Sin before it started raining as the sections you filmed where very slippery and not so fun as they look on your video.

Last time I spoke to Sanjay in Whistler it wasn't the frame that was the problem but his Romic was broken in half. Good that I ride slower than him so I don't have to fix my bike all the time :-)

That's some tasty riding. Sanjay is a nutter. I've rode those sections and he would just kill me through there. I'll be keeping the vid to look back at every now and then too.

Come up soon!!!!! We are in a mini-heatwave and there's a camp fire ban already. I'm super keeping my fingers crossed that we don't have a back-country ban, the trails are in great condition up there right now.

Did anyone see Sanjay's back wheel... I was sitting in the Bike and Bean and he walked in with a trashed rear wheel! The guy behind the counter was talking to him and said that he shouldnot be riding that, but then I saw Sanjay from the lift his the wallride on the funbox huge!
