Friday is my only day to go but it looks wet as as right now...what weather are you checking?
Weather.gov is suggesting friday may be clear, or 20 percent, saturday 50 percent....so not great, but better.
My recollection is that Whiteface deals with rain quite well. The soil is porous. I wish I could go, but I had already committed to the 24hrs of Summer Solstice.... stupid xc races... what was I thinking?!?!

We'll be at Mt Snow racing, but we'll make the trek soon enough.

Today's weather (Thursday) was the worst of the 5 day forecast with a 90% chance of rain. I worked outside all day putting up new signs and weed wacking, and it wasn't that bad outside. Light rain and no puddles on the trails. They were dry and needed some rain. You are correct that our trails do handle the rain well. There is no clay in our soil, just very absorbent, spongy loam.
Forecast for opening day is 30% chance of rain, 40 % Saturday and 40% Sunday. It will be great! If the gondola was running today it would have been great.

Just might have to make the trek over tomorrow, gotta get some riding in since all this week all of the trails here are SOAKED.
RUFUS, you gonna be riding Saturday? I'm planning on being up early Friday night, riding saturday, then leaving sometime sunday.
