I got to wondering as I pulled out of my driveway onto the gravel road on the way to work this morning.

How many other :monkey:s live on an unpaved road?

The Double C Bar Ranch (my parents house when i was in HS) used to be on a gravel road.

I have either lived in the middle of the city or the middle of the boonies. I love them both, but i am getting tired if the city life...or maybe just this city.

I used to live on a dirt road - about 12 miles from a paved road growing up. We were about 300 miles away from the nearest town over 100,000 peeps.

I moved to the big city when I was 18.

I have a gravel driveway does that count?

My parents driveway is 1/2 mile long and straight up a mountain, all gravel, and the road they live on is chip and tar. It sucks ass when you get a t-storm and all the gravel washes down the hill.

MBC wants to pave our lawn (front and back) so we don't have to mow it or pay to have it mowed.

I did growing up, not quite a mile. Lived on a small farm at the end of it. Driving a tractor at 12 and a car sideways at 14. All 30 miles south of DC.

One of the home owners along the road (4 houses) had it paved about 2 years ago. It just doesn't feel the same when I go home to visit.

Yeah, I'm about 1/2 mile off any paved surface - and my house is the closest to it in the neighborhood (which is a total of maybe 8 houses along a 2 mile stretch of road). No DSL or Cable for me!

Couldn't get cable because there weren't enough people per square mile.

None whatsoever. We travel in sledges drawn by saber toothed tigers.

Every once in a while some guys from discovery channel come by and take a few of us away to film for shows on the ice age.

I live on a dead end dirt road.
