Despite riding in Northstar and Downieville during the 4th of July weekend, I was able to avoid most holiday traffic.

Anyone have some horror stories about long commutes or bad accidents?

i sat in my back yard under the sprinkler for 5 hours. i think the most movement i made all day was from the chair to the beer and back.

I was going opposite of the traffic. apparantly no one wants to go TOWARD the mountains on the 4th, except us crazy MTBrs

No accidents or traffic to speak of, but I was in the van for 25 hours with 3 liddle boys driving from Denver to Dayton, OH.

Luckily it was really hot and humid the whole way back.

Spent hours in traffic in central NJ. Between the drive down there to all the driving we did while there. It was brutal. But the riding was great

i think it was meh. every goddamn road that weekend was at a standstill. there were multiple accidents on the highway, and one section (~6 miles long) was completely shut down. you could not drive ANYWHERE. i went from a school near me (had pancake breakfast there) to home, a distance that i normally cover in 15 minutes on bike, it took one freakin hour by car.
