So I was watching Fox News (because the Daily Show is a rerun and this is nearly as funny) and they keep bringing up the idea that the Dems want to impeach "w".

I haven't heard anyone outside of Fox News bring this up. But please tell me I'm not the only one who sees this as a bad idea. Sure he's a jackass, but if you impeach him, then look who's in charge. Are you serious?

he's the one in charge anyway.

besides, they'd impeach him too.

Impeachment does not mean removal from office. Yes, that can be part of it, but all impeachment does is remove his executive protections and charge him with a crime, thereby opening the door for after he is out of office for more litigation.

Sounds good.

At what point can he be castrated?

**** your country is funny.

No one minds impeaching a president for shagging his intern with a cigar then lying about it, but no one cares about a president that invades a sovereign state, against the UN, on misleading grounds and lying about it, leading to over 3000 dead yanks and up to 600,000 dead iraq's.

USA! USA! USA!

Not everyone here was all for the Clinton impeachment. It was basically used as a tool in a childish political fight. Although some may feel impeaching Bush would be more justified it would just be another childish political stunt as there would be no real result. We'd all be better off if those in charge just worked at solving the problems at hand.

Apparently, Iraq isn't a sovereign state.

Yeh, i know. But man, the guy and his cronies are corrupt and incompitent to the bone, if anyone deserves it it's him.......

Im just glad the dems got the house of reps and senate. In terms of the US's standing in the world it can only go up from here.

We have a similar problem in australia, the government is in control of both houses and just passes all these laws with no checks, it makes me angry

Section 4. The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.
If we start from the bottom up it might work out OK.
How far down do you think we would have to go?
Start with Rice, move up to Cheney, then go after Bush?

Could Pelosi become the first female president via impeachment? Maybe someone should tell her. :brows:

nothing is going to come of this because all of congress is involved in it anyway.

I guess I think of impeachment as total removal, not just removal of power. From that standpoint, it's not a bad idea. But I would rather see the energy spent on trying to get some work done.

I know, I'm a dreamer, but it COULD happen.

I believe it is more a political maneuver than what they democratic leadership wants to do.

They just won the Congress after 14 years, and they do not have consensus to change the head of state. And if they want to keep Congress longer than 2 years, they have to do a good, not controversial job.

BTW, I would be satisified if they just had impeachment hearings. I doubt 2/3 of the Senate would vote to get rid of him.
