went all out to see what its all about.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Windsor
Asus M2A-VM Mobo
GeForce 8600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI-E
G.SKILL 2GB DDR2 800
Raided0 Maxor 500gb SATA for 1tb!
Vista x64 w/ 50+ updates running fast and smooth

started out with a newegg order for $370.
drove into town to office depot for my hdd on sale $238
after taking 2 days to "use" vista x64, i was ready to build.
i had never done a raid. i did a lot of reading getting ready.

still had a little trouble but found the raid in bios, got to
fastbuild app and made my 1tb drive. boot from vista dvd
and installed driver with usb flash drive when my hdd did
not show up during vista install. after 5 or so reboots from
updates from gforce, vista and itunes. yes, itunes is running
fine on x64, listening to dallas radio now.

well, after a day and about $620 i have THE fastest machine i
have ever used! So much better than my +3100, 1gb ddr, AGP.

oooo, man i can't wait to get some dirt rally
game going. so many pixels to render so little time!

I hope you have a backup of that array. If one drive has an issue, you will lose 1tb of info. Consumer grade disk arrays are generally a bad idea.
i don't plan on putting more that 200gb on there.
i just wanted the size for increased speed.

back is in place, got it covered.
