This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<evilbikes@evilbikes.com>:
24.97.55.235 failed after I sent the message.

Perhaps your SMTP server (that's outgoing, right?) is set up wrong?
Talk to the IT peoples at your school. They should be able to help you better than us.

The address is being refused. The evil email server probably has your server (utexas.edu) blacklisted.
to refuse mail from an entire edu domain?! that doesn't make sense?!?!

I am not sure, i am not in charge of the evil email servers. Everything is done in house with a local network admin. There are not too many reasons to refuse a message tho besdies size, or originating domain..?

the problem definitely looks to be on evil's end. 24.97.55.235 is mail.evilbikes.com...

% nslookup -type=mx evilbikes.com

Non-authoritative answer:
evilbikes.com mail exchanger = 20 thunderbolt.ipaska.net.

Yup, i checked the ipaska mail exchangers, and everything seems to be setup and running fine. The evilbikes resident mail servers are running blacklists I believe, so this is probably the case.
