Anyone have something that I can easily kill 2 hours with?
You could hit your wrist on a truing stand and then, um, do some self-diagnosis to figure out if it's broken or not, a la Arsbars....

I sure could use a truing stand.... (random thought)

I did a three hour, 12 mile ride with Splat and SloMoJo. Some of the nicest trails I've ridden. :)

Knock Knock?

But one of the reasons I dont have one is because they cost almost as much as my bike. (sad I know, but I'm working on it.)

They have a $34 at performance.

NO problem I should probably buy it.
I'm not a pro so it should work fine.

I had a Trek once... a 4900 to be exact... got it for $600 I think...

As for truing stand... yeah a good one is way overpriced. I usually duct tape 2 pencils to my fork legs or seat stays and that is my truing stand. Been doing that for at least 4 years :D

Hrmmm pencils, sounds technical. Maybe I'll just get a stand.
Thats not a bad idea. I'll have to try it.

You want a good truing stand. And make sure you get the thing to do the roundy buits too ..

Im stil slow.. Aprox 40 minutes..

True true..

People with really slack spokes will loose some even when they are re tightened..

Worst case i seen was a rear wheel laced 3x you could actually flex the spoke a good inch whitout any effort..

Poor bike was flexing like it's spine been broken..

"It feels unstable" was the reason for it to be brought before me.. :p

Well.. if you have mavic rims you'll need a tool.. It's not cheap.. Your lbs probably has one if they deal with the more exotic parts out there..

I have mavic rims but that little holder cup thingy (techincal term) was kind loose and I could unscrew it with my hand.

My rear rim was like that 2 weeks ago before I had it true'd and now the spoke broke.
