warner blew it for him for sure.. that was messed up =[Gutted for Peaty, Warner cursed him!
Thought I was excited for Worlds before today, I'm positively buzzing now, can't wait, so many Brits on fire
He was one pace to crush Gee's time. Totally yard saled just after the second split. Was up about 1.45 seconds and blew up. Was good to see him get back up and finish, but the crash was gnarly. He was missing his right brake lever when he crossed the finish line. What happened to Steve Peat?
We were there as Gee came through that section. He aired the whole section out, landed to flat at the bottom. I have no f'n idea how he rode that out or didnt blow his bike up. Insane. So fun to watch.there is a steep step down right there and if you go too big off it the landing is flat. my guess is he went a little too big off it, landed flat and got blown off the bike.
That steep is way crazier than any pics or video will do it justice. Top guys (Gee and Brycland especially) were jumping literally 20-25ft to flat on it. It was a fade away with a wheelbase length of landing to hit. I was standing right at the bottom when peaty came in and he was off line to his left (maybe trying to catch the little bit of fresh landing) and came in a bit too far and much too nose heavy and absolutely blew up. I cant even begin to comprehend how he got right up from it, guess they dont call him sheffield steel for nothing. Hope he's ok for next weekend.Anyone wanna illuminate how Peaty crashed? I mean from the pics that looks like one of the smoothest straightest parts of the track? Someone through a branch in his spokes?
then there are not many people racing there. WHERE IS THE CROWD? this is a world cup ffs, even small races in germany attract a bigger crowd. wasted world cup, should have been in europe, a least people there appreciate a race like that...
We do have a bit of an unfair advantage though...From NZ's Spoke magazine:
Im not very good at maths (so Ive just conferred with Spoke reviewer and banker Mark Dangerfield on these stats) but in response to Dirt Magazine being stoked on having five Brits in the top ten I just thought Id break it down for them how much radder we are. So it goes like this: Great Britain has five riders in the top ten at the Windham World Cup. Their country has 64 million people so that means that they had a ratio of 1 in 12 million people in the top ten. New Zealand has three riders in the top ten at Windham, and we have 4.5 million people so that means that we had a ratio of 1 in 1.5 million people, which I think is pretty good, and in fact means that we are roughly seven times better at downhill than the UK. If you want a real laugh though check the USA stats; they have 307 million people and one person in the top ten, which means that we are around 200 times better than them.

Today's local paper (Times Union) estimated the crowd at roughly 12,000.most foot in mouth post I have read on here in a while....
crowds were quite large, and they were getting wild
talking to a handful of Euro racers who did not qualify for finals and were out spectating, they were pumped on the crowd and energy here and were wishing they got the same when racing at home.
not sure where you are drawing your conclusion from
what your cant see sitting on your couch and bitching is all the crowds packed into the woods getting mental.
yes but we have all the nukes and a penchant for using them. From NZ's Spoke magazine:

Are you high, man? The crowd was bigger than many Euro World Cups and it was definitely MUCH louder. Much, MUCH louder. Trust me, there are plenty of people happy not to be back in Europe at the end of the season...including a lot of Euros.then there are not many people racing there. Land of Convenience? There was not one burger drive through anywhere! Actually, i had to laugh out loud at a random brit on some windham vid saying that Windham was a 'hick town'. It seems that the whole "land of convenience" thing is now a world wide problem, not just a US disease. Are you high, man? Welcome back to the land of convenience, World Cup!
There was plenty of lodging options, stores, gas, eateries, etc. What exactly were you looking for? Strip clubs and mini golf??Land of Convenience? There was not one burger drive through anywhere!
