I'm just running a home setup, nothing fancy except I have 4gb of ram.

I won't need a simplified install or anything fancy.

Plus I can get a free copy of Vista or XP.

the only way you can upgrade from Windows XP is doing a full reformat and installing the new OS

Why not Vista part Duex? After windows is just a warmed over vista tweaked to have a more responsive U.I.. The 6.1 version number in the command prompt is a dead give away.
