my gaming rig is running xp pro. went to turn it on the other night and got an error message saying "ntldr is missing" or something to that extent. anyone have this problem before?

tried that but it tells me that the file could not be copied off my install disk
Is your install disk burned? Those things can be a bit tricky to burn copies of...if so, try the original if you can. (Recently I was unable to reinstall XP after a HD crash because the copy of my (legit) recovery disk didn't burn properly (and the original was geographically distant.))
got it worked out. also had an enumeration problem. did a chkdsk and it's back to "normal"
