Hello everyone,

Im installing my ipod into my 1995 jeep cherokee's sterio system. I need an aux power via a ne cigarette lighter in the center console. My question is does anyone know how to wire this directly to the fuse box, or know a websiht detaling the process.

You could do it a couple ways. Either get a fuse holder with a 15 amp fuse or so and a new cigarette lighter socket and just wire directly to the battery. That way you can use it with the ignition off, although that way also you could theoretically run your battery down.

The other way to do it is to get a relay and wire the turn on for the relay to your vehicles switched on lead. And then still wire the rest of the setup to the battery. If you don't know where to find or what color the ignition switched wires are you should go to the local autoparts store and get a haynes manual for your jeep, it should contain that kind of information.

I've had good luck just using the positive power lead for the cigarrete lighter as my ignition switched power lead but it sounds like yours is dead?

Good luck with it and remember to always fuse your positive leads from the battery.
