Have you ever actually heard a Jewish mother? My friends mom is the epitome of Jewish mothers...she volunteers at the Jewish community center...and my friends now husband had moved here from back east (he's got degrees from Yale and Stanford, so Lisa's mom was foaming at the mouth on this one) so he goes to the community center to meet people and Lisa's mom is all I have a daughter...fast forward about 6 years or so, they are married. Her mom was soooo overbearing as we were growing up...she also hired like 5 videographers for their wedding...of course one of them caught me on film cracking up at the guy with the curls on the side of his head singing...the singing was killin me...I normally can contain myself, but I lost it when he started in. Her mom will never let me forget that...she said it was shameful.
