So here it is, my first real road bike. I had an old beater Pugeot that was too big for me but this baby is actually light and fast. Very exciting.

The bike commute to work begins tomorrow!

Would like to thank gmac for giving this to me at a freakin' fantastic price. It's in better shape then I even expected. Mechanically, it's perfect.

F'ing UPS bent the dropout so I had to go at it with a wrench... No fault of the packing job, though, which was ugly but functional . Thanks PD!

I just want to say, when I powered up a hill outside my house in the big ring/small gear combo.. Holy crap. An eye-opening experience, considering what I usually suffer through on my FR hardtail.

the crazy thing is how much faster a really good road bike feels!

but i still have been up to a higher speed on a mtn bike though.

For $75, full Shimano 600 and a Mavic wheelset all in flawless mechanical condition, I would have bought it if he took a cheese grater to the paint

Not only is this my first road bike, but it's actually my first time on a road bike ('cept for that Pugeot). It's.. Very, very different. Interesting getting used to. The bike is a smidgen small for me (I knew it would be), but it's only a commuter - if I end up wanting to log some serious time, I'll buy a nicer one and relagate this to my townie bike.

Overall I'm really happy. Save myself some gas money, get my lazy ass in better shape..
