Haha, you guys are funny. Gettting all emotional and stuff.

"Oh, even though Gee won Sam is still the winner in my book". Well, in my opinion that is ridiculous. Gee won, shut up.

But guess what. This is a good thing, a bunch of loyal fanboys and gals. Reminds me off all the outrageous fanaticism over other more popular sports, and that is a goood thing!!

Geee won , Sam is fast, Peaty had a kickass run, Kieran is gonna come up, the USA did better, Josh bryceland's hair looks like that of a person who is screaming for attention, Ivan Olego is awesome, Pascal is badass, freecaster rocks, you kids keep arguing about who won...

Downhill mountain biking is the best thing in the world.

Seeing as though the worlds is an all or nothing race I think it was totally justified for Sam to push that hard. He didnt qualify first so he didn't know what Minnaar, Leov and Gee had up their sleeves. It probably would've been more heartbreaking for him to have shut it down in the lower sections and lost by a small margin. He gave it his best shot and crashed, seemed to handle the disappointment pretty well as well.

just cause he was one of your riders shouldn't mean you're automaticly fanboy. As I remember, your boy despises his "Dual" tactics. I always remember Deldycke as Captain T-Bone.
I got Deldycke on Schwinn in 01' because I thought he was the only euro who could take down Lopes...Deldycke did not like Lopes nor did Lopes like him (racing styles) that was the beauty of the whole thing. I got to know the kid that year and he was good times, great family he has too. He was not captain T-bone (till today), that title goes to Karim Amour and he will always hold that title. Hell, Ross Milan probably is more deserving of captain tbone title these days.

Jared left a HUGE hole open, Deldycke took advantage of it...in a crappy way. I am sure he did not mean to do that, just a wise plan that went all kinds of wrong haha.

Since everyone on RM knows so much, doesn't this course have Kovarik written all over it? or no?
I would have expected a medal on this track easily from him after watching all those runs on the track, looked like it was made for him and only him?

Agreed?

well done to Justin Leov I think thats the best result @ a worlds for a Kiwi in the mens ever!

Congrats to the rest too, great result for the boys n girls, its a long way for them to go, 4th and 5th in the juniors and the girls hanging in there too Scarlett 9th after a horror few year of injuries, so great result congrats to Kiwi's kids!:monkeydance:

Gees run was pretty cool looks like a few others have sussed out different line choice's alah Sam, some of his Gees were interesting but obviously quick, his bike looks dialed too! everyones so close at the mo, but Gees definitley being consistent and able to handle the pressure and stay in control!

Roll on Mt St Anne!

AWESOME!

Nice shot man, like it a lot Stik is right about that for sure!
It's a good pic, but it's nothing special - Fraser has taken many many much better shots. THe one Stik was talking about is the other pic of Gee, with the flag, and that truly is a stunning shot!

C'mon guys, I'm sure everyone that loves the sport can get emotional watching Hill's run and understands it. He was going ludicrous speed through the entire track, giving us all chills down our spines and thoughs like "Mo$#% Fu$#%.. how can he do that?", and them he crashed!
Its like having your favorite team(Sam is not my favorite rider, just to get that clear) leading the championship, playing beautifully all season long and on the last match losing it. Anyone can relate to that.

To me it was in fact the best run. Probably the best run I've ever seen. Now, did he deserve to win Champs? No, why? Cos the clock says so! ;)

Looks like Gee sported mud spikes while Sam is running Minion meats.

What was the tire of choice for most of the fast boys?

I knew Gee chose to run spikes the whole week, apparently refusing to change ANYTHING. But what's he running? Are those Michy Mud3s?? Or is that a 2.5 Scream? Shiit...I don't even know what tire company the Athertons ride for...

Dang. Those 2.5s vary quite a bit from my 2.2 Pizza cutters.
Someone overseas wanna mail me some? And...explain to me again why they aren't available in the friggin US???

Anyone know how much he had them cut down in the World's? Cuz I just can't see how he even stayed up right once he hit the gravel/loose rock corner after the ski jump. I've got my lugs all cut in half and ramped and sketchy in loose-over-hard is an understatement.
And yes, yes...I know he's a pretty good rider and all....

Yah, but what if Sam hill had put speed holes in his tires, then he'd be even faster then Gee if Gee was running different tires!

That tire Gee ran is the slowest rolling tire, had he ran a normal dry dirt tire, he would have been up on Sam Hills time at split. Tinfoil hats unite.
Actually, when you chop them down in the middle they're right back up there, on hard(er) pack...but I've NEVER noticed any differences between spikes and lugs in loose stuff, except for their predictability over lugs. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm down to one pair and broke, I'd never take them off. And once my trails get boring and repetitive, I could just try to zzom down a gravel road with them and get my loosey, out-of-control buzz for the week! And even there they still don't feel slow. But man...hit hard packed dirt or pavement(blah) and your ride is over!
Didn't see too much surface at Val Di Sol that would have really slowed down a spike...?

I will only reply to you since you are the only one who has a sense of humor around here.

How about this one-If Gee had been running a polished frame, like Sam Hill had (instead of the animal commencal scheme) Gee would have been 9 secs up on Sam at the split.
AND Sam DID have speed holes in his frame.
OH, correction: They were speed SLOTS. But then again, they were probably stuffed with moto foam, so kind of a catch 22 there... I think smooth metal is faster than foam. We'll need to have an analysis...

The fact this photo of the year (taken by Bryn Atkinson for Jillkintners site) is not in this thread, means Jillkintner.com needs some more traffic.

Rob Warner and Tym keepin it real, hilarious

Radical the evil villain of RM has accepted me...stoked! I need a jaded wrench to spanner on my steed in MSA and Bromont next month, seems like your the man for the job, you can hold my drink bottle and massage my calves with one hand (as you cut down my spikes with your teeth so the roll heaps sicker then Gee-Bags) while with your free hand you change the Justin Timberlake songs on my I-pod so I can be "in the zone" for smokin' Hill, seen as he is done now that he lost the Rainbows.

We on? Salary negotiable, Fraser can update out blog daily! High Five.
