Early results:

Talked to Mikey briefly - he and Amiel Cavalier went out in the first heat. Prokop and Cody advanced.

I also heard that Lars Sternberg made it to the second round, along with Lopes.

Also heard that Houseman went out first round - Roger Rinderknecht and JK advanced out of that heat.

Those are the only ones I heard before that phone cut off.
Congrats Mikey, on qualifying during your first Worlds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jill has got to start racing DH. Shes is unstoppable in anything slalom/4x.

Does anyone know why she doesn't race dh?

She did pretty well at crankworx 2005 I think. I'm guessing she's just so focused on 4x that she doesn't have time, or want to train for something else. But I'm pretty sure she'd kick ass in most downhill courses.

She doesn't like it....

She did snowmass a couple years ago was midpack in the women's field...about a min off the pace of the winner

wow....who-da thunk it... Prokop & Kintner! ... of course, if my boy Graves wasn't injured, it think weeda seen another name in that top spot! but that's just dreamin now... Grubby in '07!

anyways.... errrrrrr... as i'm still pissed over the whole "LIVE TV" scam.... kinda interesting to see Lopez in 8th spot!

yah, as for Jill not racing DH...yah, you're right....it's not her cup-o-tea. However i wonder what'll happen if the "rumor" is true about dropping Women's 4X from the world cup schedule. if it's true, maybe she'll just race state-side, or take up dh?(doubtful)...but ya never know...there are quite a few girls "retiring" so maybe she'll have a chance! ;)

i still have a half a head of hair left.....saving to pull that out tomorrow for DH! Go RENNIE, HANNAH, ATKINSON, NEETHING, JONNIER, (tracey) HANNAH, BUHL, PEAT, GRACIA, RIFFLE, MARTIN & MARTIN...& anyone else i'm sponsoring or working with! (yah, it's hard to choose! ....i'm still delaying on my Litter OTB mega-pool!)

from Farkin.net

"The main event of today was the 4X finals. In the womens event there were only 8 competitors. Jill Kintner looked awesome all afternoon and easily won all her races. She is now World Champion for the second year in a row. Congrats Jill!

Prokop matched Jill's form in the mens event also winning all of his races. However there was a lot of competition for the other positions with a lot of close racing and quite a bit of crashing. Cedric went down in his first heat. Lopes went down in the 1/4 finals after tangling with Michal Marosi in the second turn. Lopes didn't end up racing the small final which was suprising as it seemed as though him and his bike suffered no damage in the crash. In the final Roger R crashed after the main straight after being second to Prokop for the entire race to that point."

DH Finals get underway in 4 hours time!

Will it be the first wet World's since Are in Sweden, '99?

Can Peaty get the dog of his back....can Lehikoinen keep the Brazil form, jesus there are at least 10 guys who can have this. The tension is killing me now, I wanna be there so bad, all wrapped up in a sexy skinsuit!

In contrary to my OTB bet this is how I see it now.

1st. Steve Peat
2nd. Greg Minnaar
3rd. Sam Hill

But what I would like to see is:

1st. Matti Lehikoinen
2nd. Nathan Rennie
3rd. Mick Hannah

Marc Beaumont? Dark-horse.

As for the womens..........

Any bets on if an American is in the top 20? I'll bet on Riffle top 10

Overall:

1st Rennie
2nd Lehikoinen
3rd Peat

(not exactly going out on a limb)

I know, I was racking my brain for the OTB entry....i think Matti has a good shot at winning....Sam wants it BAD though....I wish Pascal had a better bike to race on.

Matti - Good year this year
Minnaar - Always good at Worlds
Peaty - New bike...gotta win one of these days
Hill - Still mad from last year
Pascal - has the potential in the wet for sure, bike holding him back?, Most under rated rider in the top 10.
Hannah - Podium or DNF
Gracia - Long shot
Rennie - Where did he come from?
Kovarik - Well he isn't arrested and in jail...heh heh
Beaumont - The new Peat?

So, do you think Tracey was taking it easy in her seeding run? The french girl put a good time as well, it would put them around 10th in the Elite field. Seems like she always has a much faster final though, so it will be interesting to see how she would have finished in the Elite field. Wouldn't it be cool is she was the Junior champ, and had the overall world champ time??

Just been reading Jill Kintner report from her website, and this was super interesting:

I think I heard that Sam Hill was up by 3 seconds at the split??But then was coasting at the end. I think he was keeping his true times to himself.
Anyway, I will keep my first podium prediction.

Damn I can't wait for the race!!!!

1-Peat
2-Minnaar
3-Hill

1-Tracy Moseley
2-Sabrina Jonnier
3-Rachel Atherton

1-Sam Blenkinsop
2-Brendan Fairclough
3-Steve Smith

1-Tracey Hannah (by 8 seconds)
2,3- Who cares???
