I got a phone call yesterday evening letting me know that I have been selected (following a pending background check) to be the assistant project manager for a community health project with the Neighborhood House of Milwaukee and The Medical College of Wisconsin. I will be supervising the research of a few community health specialists. Heheheheh, I am going to be the boss. I don't care to speak to the fact that I will have 4 or 5 bosses to answer to, at least I get to be the boss too.

Congrats. No doubt you would be a better boss than the one I have now. You'd have to put up with a lot of sass talk though.

So this is like a permanent full time gig?
Yeah, for now. The current funding for the project is up in June, but they have put in for funding from the NIH for another five year, intervention portion of the project. So I could be doing this job hunt thing all over again in June if funding doesn't go through. But, I will be working full time in a university research setting. My top boss is the director of Community Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin, which is basically a cultural medicine program with other anthropologists on the staff. So I am in a perfect place to be doing following my exact research interests. I am pretty ****ing excited. And I didn't have to answer one stupid HR question in my interview.

I have NO idea what kind of person you are or how compitent you are, but my current boss is an amateur clown, so sure, you might just work out.

Good luck in you new venture.

Did you say "Assistant Project Manager?"

Are you sure you're the boss? Cos from the title alone you could just as easily be the gofer.

Still, congrats anyway...

If you consider an occasional ride as a legit excuse to miss work, I'd be happy to work for you. :D

OMG You are right, I should have read the job description better. I'm probably just going to be making copies and getting coffee.

My main duty is the supervision of the community health specialists on staff.

I am a boss. I'm just not THE boss.
