Wow, bunch of slackers on here today, no GMT.

How was everyone's weekend? Everyone all excited for George Mason to have upset another top seed? Goodbye, brackets

I spent $45 on a bathing suit this weekend :dead:. It's nice, but damn... I have a hard time spending $45 on a pair of jeans. Other than that, didn't do too much exciting.

What did everyone else do? Weather looks like it's going to be nice in the coming week!

Morning! Pretty uneventful weekend. Enjoyed the UConn game with a beer yesterday. Very much looking forward to this weekend... 80s!! :weee: I will be by the pool with beer, maybe some friends, and maybe a book! Training a noobie at work today, and trying to get my grad school essay done at the same time... :help:

Have a good one, all!

Morning. :)

I went up snowboarding on Saturday, definitely to the point where it's spring skiing. It was probably 50* most of the day and I just had a hoodie on with my sleeves rolled up.

I'm on spring break now, and tentatively I'm planning on snowboarding from tomorrow through Friday. So hopefully that works out, and then get some riding on today. :)

'Morning! I had a good weekend. It started with an awesome hockey game Friday night. We played a very good team that I was SURE was going to thump us, but we SMOKED 'em 6-2. Man, I felt great after that.

:dancing:

Other than that, not much excitement this weekend, but it was productive. Got lots of crap done plus two good workouts. We ran into MCG and his woman while shopping Saturday night, so we all went out for a beer. Mmmm....beeeeeer...

2 long weddings - 7 and 9 hours.
No stressed brides, so both enjoyable
Cake was excellent at both
The food at the second was beyond compare.

It radiates more ghey than the thread I once started about the hair salon with candles. I think BV's lesson may be more harsh than mine.

His custom title should either be "Hasslehoff" or "bananna hammock" moving forward.

Is this some kind of crackhead west coast thing?

Everyone I know in New England - young, old, male, female - calls it a bathing suit. I just took a quick poll of my office and they all refer to it as a bathing suit as well.

$45 sounds like a lot for a bathing suit though. I have a couple of nice Oakley ones I got at an Oakley outlet for like $25 each.

Holy crap - this is the first GMT that I am going to have to leave because of the "metro" oozing from it.

*let's see if N8 shows up for this reference of metro.

Good morning,

Had a greeaaatttt weekend.

Started off by going to see JFA Friday night.

Checked out an ag exhibit on Saturday with the family. There were a bunch of antique tractors running including some steam powered ones.

Literally spent all day Sunday on the bike. And the knee held up! Did the group ride on Sunday morning. That was only 14 miles and not enough for as nice as the day was. Stopped by Trail 100 and did an extra 11 miles. Then went home and rode around the neighborhood with the family for another 5 or so miles. A perfect day.

Just a bunch of typical weekend stuff over here.......Fri. evening was steaks on the grill, a few bottles of wine, and some bow-chickka-wow-wow. Sat. we had some weird weather -- took the dog for a run but it started raining so we left. On the 10 minute drive home, we got rain, sunshine, hail and snow!! Decided it was a good day for laundry, beer and couch-surfing.

Met some friends out that night for some Mexi-cuisine and lots of beers. Saw a really good rockabilly/country/bluegrass band and did a few dance-shuffle moves and called it an evening. Passed out sitting up in the living room chair and had a nice crick in the neck to show for it on Sunday.

hey...saturday was kinda dull, weather was grey and cold, so didn't do much at all. yesterday miles went to a b-day party so i took otis to see _Curious George_. he had a good time. was sitting in the big chair, transfixed, w/ a big bag of popcorn on his lap. good stuff.

after the kids went to bed, i drove into the city to meet up w/ a friend i'd not seen in a while, and we headed over to PA's lounge to catch the avant-music show.

first up was Uncle Woody Sullender. he was an avant banjo player who played straight, then wander off to Derek Bailey land. not bad, different if anything.

here's a blurb from his site:
Under the not-so-clever moniker of "Uncle Woody Sullender", Woody Sullender performs improvised banjo music, playing with and against the cultural baggage of the instrument. While alluding to the "traditional" musics of his home states of Virginia and North Carolina, he explores a diverse plane of plucked string music from around the world as well as incorporating punk, noise, free jazz, etc.. In 2004, he collaborated with sound artist Maryanne Amacher, incorporating his banjo recordings into "TEO! A sonic sculpture" which won the Golden Nica at the 2005 Ars Electronica festival. Sullender recently relocated to Brooklyn from Chicago.

next up was Sir Richard Bishop, the main reason i went. he's one of the 3 legs of the Sun City Girls, and on his own plays a very jaw-dropping brand of steel-stringed guitar. awesome set. i interviewed him a decade-plus ago, and it was nice to actually converse in real time w/ him. very friendly guy, and i scored one of the ultra-limited Vault cdrs off him.

By trade Sir Richard Bishop is a dealer of rare occult books and fine paper ephemera. He is also one-third of the Sun City Girls. Bishop is also a truly dazzling unaccompanied guitarist. On Improvika, Bishop rides a very tall horse through a surrealist's cowboy set that's one part bruit Peckinpah muscularity & 2 parts illuminated Jodorowskian symbolism: a very strange place, indeed. Armed only with a single steel-string wooden guitar, bare-knuckled Bishop fends off the horrors and dangers of the night with ease as he spits out glorious white-robed arabesques, Django-inspired gypsy arcs, and Latin terracotta flourishes like so many spinning tumbleweeds in a one-horse town that is his alone. Improvika is Sir Richard's follow up to his part on Locust Music's celebrated Wooden Guitar collection, and his second full-length release after his debut on John Fahey's Revenant label.
last up was headliners Jackie-O Motherf***er...a loose collective of improv-minded people from NYC, via portland. they had a female singer this time around who was pretty damn good...she'd howl, sing, play w/ a delay around her voice, lie down, do just about anything. the drummer was playing a lot of free jazz patterns, and the two guitarists were off in their own world (one would sometimes play percussion, and he'd also brought a stash of lps and a turntable w/ him and would have some stuff going on too).

i am sure it would bomb as SotD material.

overall a good night out. i did take a few pics and might get them up later, if any turned out ok.

haha -yeah it must be, it really struck me as odd to hear a guy say that :) Shorts - or in extreme circumstances swimming shorts are what they go by around here. The fact that you took a poll cracks me up too

Stayed up until 430 this morning doing homework. There was a problem that when solved the correct way yielded an answer of 17.5, yet when you plug in their answer of 18.3 it gave you that same answer plus .0045. I kept doing that same problem over and over for about 2 hours trying to get the right answer but it never came.

Other than that not much. Had a nice surprise this weekend as my dad informed me that I have $750 in savings bonds that we had forgotten about.

Forgotten cash is one of the best things ever. Don't envy the homework situation though. Glad all thats behind me forever.

Morning ya'll. Had a killer weekend, gone but not forgotten. Hit a local spot on Friday night for beers, oysters and BBQ, and a rad UCONN basketball game...it was the only game I watched all year and we pulled it off in OT. On Saturday my girl and I headed north to stay at a friend's cabin in Occidental, spent the day hitting a few wineries and taking short hikes in the rain. Ate lamb racks that night and sampled some of the grape juice. Yesterday we headed out to the coast in the morning for some more short hikes and a nap in the sun. Then I got on my road bike a little north of Tomales and took Route 1 home to SF, a little over 60 miles of rolling and hilly coastline...man it was gorgeous...when I got home my girl had a huge vat of pasta with italian sausage, fresh bread, cheese and more wine waiting...mmmmm...proper.

Working on my taxes. Boy this is screwed up, I may have to pay out a huuge chunk of money but I think if I refile and makes changes to '04 I'll be in the clear. I'm not one to complain about taxes but I am sure as hell not going to give the government an extra $8k if I don't have to.

Just woke up.... I am tired. Been painting and moving all weekend, and I still have to paint and move today too. Moving sucks.

Anyhoo... waiting for the coffee to brew so I can finish waking up and head out to the new house to finish painting. The big move is Saturday so I better hurry.

Gotta feed the pig too. This is Petunia, she comes with the house...

The wife is trying to put a stop to the farm animals. No way, I say... we need chickens, ducks, a horse, and a goat.

Poor Petunia. She won't make good eatin'. And I have approval from the landlord to make bacon if I want.

Good morning!

Good weekend. Friday night I went out to a New Orleans/cajun resturant and had some drinks.
Saturday morning the gang assembled for an early start for DH shuttles. Did Cold Springs trail before the rain started and got some filming in too. The second run down Tunnel was wet, cold and slippery. The wooden waterbars wanted to grab your wheel and huck you off trail.
Sunday I was supposed to ride XC, but I was too beat up from Sat. I cleaned the apt and played video games...good times ;)

Good morning---errr...afternoon. Weekend was not so spectacular, little bit of riding, lot of apartment cleaning, and trying to find a dog sitter for my vacation that starts tomorrow. 1st time in 10 years of marriage that my wife and I are actually vacationing together, with no family visits involved. Very hard thing to do...
Oahu, here I come. Wonder if I will still be this enthused after 11 hours on a plane....

Good afternoon all! It was my first day back at school and boy was it crazy!!! This is the first chance I have had all day to sit down and do anything. Yikes! I missed my little monkey, but she had a good day with her Aunt so all is well. I am off to play with her now. :D
