The Stella Liebeck case (McDonald's Coffee) was actually pretty sad. The woman spilled coffee on herself because as they drove away from the window she had it between her legs. But what was ****ed is that the Coffee was something like 50 degrees hotter than anyone else's coffee (Wendy's, Burger King, etc.)

  • It caused serious burns, she needed skin grafts, she spent 8 days in hospital.
  • She tried to settle with McDonalds for her medical bills but instead they just offered her a free breakfast meal
  • There were 700 other burn claims before this one that McDonald's ignored.

Business sue far more and about much stupider things:
The Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights has named its own list of Top 5 Frivolous Business Lawsuits. Among them are Mattel suing a Swedish pop group for a song named "Barbie World" and Caterpillar objecting to the movie "George of the Jungle 2" because of its negative depiction of bulldozers.

Is it McDonalds fault that she put the coffe between her legs? NO! It is her fault that the coffee spilled. I like my coffee hot. Any moron knows that riding in a moving vehical with a cup of coffee in your crouch is asking for trouble. Personal responsibility.
