I'm okay with The California Territory being returned to Spain, or hell, even returned to its status as a Mexican protectorate.
I think Aotearoa should offer the people of Hawaii $500,000 to become part of the Realm of New Zealand.

Having seen far too many times how the Pomgolian's behave abroad, I can't say I'm surprised.
I guess my head is really fucked because I'm a bit lost and maybe I was not clear enough.
Lemme expand upon it a bit and add in my own anecdote.
As the story was told by the retired British guy who winters in Spain. (and yes apparently he does speak Spanish, so maybe not a total bell-end - he comes across as a decent guy ) Anyway, he overheard American tourists speaking in English complaining that the "Mexican" language was being spoken in Spain by the staff of the business he was waiting in line at. He said he was shocked. Seemed a bit out there, then I remembered when I was a pump-jockey at a freeway service centre on summer break from school. I had a car full of US tourists complete with skis next to luggage on the roof rack ask me where all the snow was - in August. Don't know if they were fucking with me, but with seeing the ski's I took them at face value.

When the forum is in England and you are English but have left, you would be an expat.
From the Spanish point of view, you would be an immigrant.
It would reverse, if the circumstances warranted.

I know this is being discussed elsewhere, but I figured it could also go here. between this, and Trump's evident desire to weaken NATO, Canada is now pinched between two neighbours with territorial ambitions (yeah, if looking down at the North pole, we're pretty fucking close to that fucking fuck clown).

As a veteran who served in the US Army mid-1980s in West Germany. I am amazed at how many people I served with remain under Trump's spell. He loves dictators and hates democracy. Trump's abandonment of Ukraine is shameful and embarrassing. America is moving from a country of hope to a two-bit dictator fascist state and over half the country is cheering the change. I wonder if we will ever recover from this or will we just slide into a chaos of our own making?
