Useful Idiot

Putin being some kind of strategic genius has clearly been disproven, but he does have a knack for getting narcissistic man-children in his bidding.

Can you imagine if Raytheon just decided it didn't feel like participating in some particular action after taking tons of money from the government?

Russia is actively doing something against overpopulation and climate change. Directly killing people, starving people to death by reducing the produce exports from Ukraine, accelerating the green transition in many countries by skyrocketing fossile fuel prices...
Putin's hidden agenda becomes clear: he is an extreme environmentalist. :tinfoil: ;) :D

This a post stolen from another place. Thank-you DimitryZ.

"On Russian language YouTube, an old Russian academic/political hand, Valeriy Solovey (not to be confused with Solovyov, the propagandist), said yesterday that use of tactical nukes was actively discussed at Monday's RF Security Council meeting, with only two members disagreeing. The scenario they discussed is a simultaneous nuclear destruction of all major bridges across Dnieper river. This would cause widespread devastation to nearby population centers, create serious economic misery and likely poison this huge river, triggering an ecological disaster.

Putin then deferred the question until the next meeting.

This guy is still in Russia but speaks very freely, which probably means he represents the "moderate" faction (from which he gets a degree of protection) - like the two members who are resisting to pull the nuclear trigger. He is predicting that Russia is entering a highly turbulent and unpredictable period of regime transition that will last 1-2 years.

Legit scary stuff, even with a heap of salt."

This is not good. Bunch of brinkmanship players have backed themselves into a corner.

I doubt he will.
It would gain them nothing conventional weapons cant achieve, plus it would be suicide.

Russian conventional weapons are only capable of hitting civilian targets. Ukraine would need to build Kindergartens on the bridges for them to work.

Ya, I hope you're right. I can't see it being a valid option for this scenario either, but who would have thought the Russians so incompetent, then again here we are.

That's going to leave a mark. It looks like it mainly crashed at the foot/in the parking lot or whatever, where the fireball is, other angles seem to indicate this. It seems to have caught the middle of the building on fire (seen in later pics in daylight).
