Not at the scale needed. Look at the Bakhmut front.
Waves of infantry and vehicles is really what MLRS/HIMARS was all about...then they stopped making the rockets with submunitions...which from a combat perspective is probably short sighted. The range, reloading options/ammo caches, counterfire-artillery and forward observers is the real question.

I believe we have plenty in inventory but will not use or give them away as the failure rate is too high. Something like over 3% of the munition fail to explode leaving creating a long term hazard.

Doesn't matter much, through western aid and captured Russian equipment Ukraine has gained artillery superiority. And their HIMARS are busy wreaking havoc on Russian logistics.

The only advantage Russia has now is the ability to throw corpses at Ukraine. With Russian mobilization the number of Russians killed everyday has literally tripled. Early on in the war there was hope that Russian citizens would start turning against the war once their soldiers were getting killed. That isn't happening as dead soldiers families get paid out large sums of money. Just more evidence of how shallow and materialistic russian society is.

*shiver*

This is how the united states justifies its next war. I can see it now.

Because:

1: we're really not that different

2: Russia only got a 10 year taste of capitalism in terms of anyone alive today. We've been practicing for 200 years

3: American republicans are literally already doing russia

Sorry about your son. Want a peloton?

They have 3 lines. The 2nd and 3rd line are instructed to shoot anyone retreating from the forward line.

I think this is part of the dehumanization of russians, as an enemy.
I think Russia is like Venezuela. People have been slowly boiled for so long... they just suck up each additional degree and accept a totalitarian gvmt as part of daily life; not that they are intrinsically evil or essentially different than the west.

No sergeants and no brains

That's actually our current military problem right now as well since all the combat vets from OIF/OEF have left service. Pretty difficult to find any combat patches these days that aren't E-7 and up

But we actually have processes to train and shape our NCO corps. We build our forces entirely on this and delegate authority as necessary.

When I was in Germany last month having dinner with CENTCOM commanders, it was apparent that all the new "entitled" E4 and below were not fit for things such as PLDC and were too busy trying to find ways out of the army via medical ETS and being "triggered"

Welcome to the new army.

Russia's retreat looks like it is turning into panicked running and a rout. Of course the only place they have to run is to a bridge-less river that is controlled by Ukrainian artillery.

Also, these were Russia's best troops.
