In hell. Welcome!
So? They will be sent to the front lines without training and equipment, hungry, probably asked to plunder for survival, like their armies always did. The debates about the quality of their training are amusing, but are likely just that.

I think numbers stopped mattering that much when HIMARS and cluster bombs were invented.
Himars are useless against waves of infantry. Ukraine does not posses air superiority for cluster bombs. There's a reason the progress of the brave Ukrainians has been rather slow in areas with high concentration of orcs.

Not asking specifics, did the people you know who went there at the start make it out okay or still there doing good work?
My homies have all returned and been back for some time. There is now a huge contingent of private (monetized) contractors over there doing the spearhead work.

When the paychecks start rolling in and infrastructure is at hand it is no longer a volunteer-friendly environment

Asuming you have forward observers or drones, waves of infantry is one of the primary uses of HIMARS. For MLRS, we would have FOs drop in or somehow get to observation points well beyond our front lines. Then the guys job is to see stuff and not be seen. This is one of the baddest-ass special-forces type deals, a lot hinges on it, except with drones it's not nearly as critical to use humans anymore. But those guys would call in the fires, with multiple ranging and location type equipment. It's seconds from detection until rockets are flying downrange. This is typically a lot more effective than gun artillery, precisely because of the cluster bomb effect. It's also pretty shitty if you are a civilian caught in it, since it covers a wide area (at least a KM). But infantry is delivered by relatively soft vehicles or on foot, so it's a great use. So if describing "waves" of infantry...HIMARS munitions are great for that.

Ukraine doesn't have the numbers of HIMARS to make a tactical difference in a battle, at least across a thousand mile front. Why Ukraine has been using them to take out high value strategic targets. The Russians are the ones who can lay down mass amounts of artillery on front lines.

In this day in age, the use of scouts (I was one) is nearly negated with modern warfare. HIMARS, MLRS, and all other forms of vehicle-mounted Artillery/rocket systems are pretty much linked and tied to be autonomous with the use of Satellites and surveillance UAV's and very rarely are used in forwarding front line trace tactics anymore because of the effective ranges. These days it is up to the soldiers on the ground to transport and set up the systems and once the link is up and they are online the soldiers are then left to do nothing but defend the area and keep it operational or loaded. Even in Ukraine these systems are linked and fired with data from other sources, very rarely are they fired from the hip at the vehicle by a soldier.

There are still some operational mortar platoons being used in Ukraine but they are becoming far and few due to the effectiveness of linked systems. Persistent systems have essentially written the book on this tech and are abundant on the battlefield.

Looks like Putin's mobilization is disproportionately drawing from ethnic minorities in far flung cities. Not much chance of people in Siberia rebelling against Moscow when their people die in mass in a cold wet trench.

Unfortunately, the majority seem to be those that are less affluent and have nowhere to go and are enticed by promises of money and food. But on the other hand, there necessarily won't be scholars and athletes on the front lines either.

Some say a bulk of these conscripts are going to use the chance to defect since they dont have the personal means to evac or evade

Baltic scumbags, we should throw them out of EU. The only reason to not take them in is xenophobia. Europe is full of rich male ukraininans allready, so few russians won't make a difference. Let putin and his supporters fight for themselves.

It would look very different if they were protesting in the same numbers in which they are fleeing.

Worth noting that the protests were not Anti war, anti war crimes, just anti mobilization.

Also seems that the protests died down once it was obvious that just poor ethnic minorities were getting drafted. Moscow kids will be fine. Anyone who can afford to retreat to Estonia will be fine.
