Well I have a PS2 but I have been noticing that Sony comes out with a lot of games and most of them are craptacular. I friend of mine tells me the X-box is a superior system and the games are of higher quality all around. Does anyone have them both? or switched from one system ot another. I searched the forums but not much help there....D

Ps2 doesnt have Halo 2. Nor could it run a game like Halo 2 (so I have been told).
Woo. Hoo.

I don't like Halo anyway, but a single game wouldn't cause me to switch between one system or another.

D, the only way you can really tell on this is to see if you can find a friend who has an Xbox and play a few games. I have been underwhelmed by the Xbox games I've played thus far, and I hate the Xbox controller with a passion (both the OEM one and a smaller aftermarket one). I like my PS2 - what types of games do you play?

edit: incidentally, I have a lot of playing time on both - I own a PS2 and my roommate owns an Xbox.

X-box=superior system(it's a basically a PC)
PS2= more and better games(but the load time isn't always best)

I'd stick with PS2 unless xbox has games you really want to play.

I read a recent article that said that suddenly a whole bunch of people with hacked Xboxes were banned from Xbox Live as soon as they tossed Halo 2 in and tried to sign on.

I like role playing, first person shooter, driving, adventure games. I really like the Star Wars games and PS2 doesn't have them. I also really like the metal Gear series and X-box doesn't have those. I just went ot the electronic store last night...I noticed that most of the newer games I would buy were on the X-box system...PS2 had good games but X-box had more and the counter guy said the X-box is much more powerful system....D

Grand Tourismo 4 is coming soon, that should be reason enough to keep the PS2 ;)

not that you could build a computer for the price but why not just build a computer and do all that stuff.

A computer that would play equivilant games would be a lot more than 150 bucks, more like over a thousand (1G+ ram, 3G+ processor, at least a 9800 pro vid. card, 100G+ HD, software, the price just adds up quickly- and that's the minimum requirements for a game like doom 3). An x-box is a pretty good deal for what you get compared to a computer, but right now I like my PS2 a TINY bit more (I've owned both).

X-box has a lot of good games, but so does the PS2. And the games for PS2 are a lot more diverse- it's hard to find certian types of games for an x-box. Also, the controllers are WAAAAY better- I hate all x-box controllers on the market. Now, if a company came out with a PS2 style controller for an x-box., it might sway me back to the dark side......

I dunno, if you really want to mod the hell out of your game console then get an x-box and dump a few hundred more bucks into it- you'll make the money back in game costs (all you have to do is rent games and burn them to your HD). If you want something that's easy to use and has TONS of games available then go for the PS2.

If you couldn't tell, I'm not leaning very far to one side or the other. I have a PS2 now, but I'm pretty close to getting my x-box back from my little bro and buying halo-2. They're both good systems, you'll be happy with either.

I have both systems, but to be honest the ps2 is gathering dust in the cupboard, the xbox is the system to have especially since halo2 has come out.

The only thing stopping me play that is Doom3 on the pc which is just amazing to play....

We have both (and both collect dust...) but if I had to chose between them I'd go with X-box. Solely because I only play driving games and Project Gotham I is hands-down the best driving game I've ever played and is X-box exclusive.

Shooter games and RPG's bore me to tears...

Really, you need both. They dont mkae Halo or Halo 2 for PS2, and they wont make GT4 for Xbox. Since these are the only two games that matter, youre screwed.

I bought an X-box mainly so I could play Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. It's a great game.

If you have any interest in platformer games, (Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, etc.) PS2 has a lot more choices. And I highly recommend any of the Ratchet and Clank games. Tons of fun, and some good humor, too.

i've got both, i get the best of both worlds, whenever there is a game i like and it comes out for both i will always get the xbox version, better graphics and it overall just handles the games better, best of all i got my xbox for free :thumb:

unfortunatly there are games i like that are ps2 only so i bought that just to play them, like GTA san andreas, GT4, final fantasy series, etc.

the xbox is hands down better in pretty much every way, but unless there are specific games that are xbox only that you just have to play, then i would just save your money and wait for the next generation consoles.
