Today in the moring I went to help build the Firestone DH course in Los Olivos, and I felt like riding once I got back home. I decided to ride my favorite local trail, so I figured I'd take some pics and post 'em up here.
I started out by gettin' a shuttle to a gate that leads to the start of the trail. (BTW the pics def. don't give the trail justice plus I only took a few, the trail has more flowy sections in addition to the pics)
This is the start of the trail:
A little further up (again, way steeper than the pics):
A little waterfall on the side of the trail, bad pic:
A cool little feature a ways up, it's fun on the way down:
A view from mid-trail:
Up here it starts to get fast and flowy, the camera can't show the speed:
Cool natural berm/rut:
And at the top, here's some awesome views. Gotta love CA! You can see the town the trail leads to at the bottom of the valley.
On the way down I managed to smack my shin on a rock:
I got home soaking wet, muddy, bruised, bloody, and with a big smile on my face! Sorry for lack of action but it was just me, myself, and I on this ride. I hope to be posting more ride reports soon. The trail was awesome (sticky and wet). It was cool blasting through the water bars with puddles in between. Enjoy.
