X-works Done?

I know I might be jumping to conclusions, but the X-works Dorado has been completely removed from the Manitou website. I owned an '04, and I know they were having a lot of trouble with them, I heard that even the upgraded internals supplied at the end of the season didn't work too well.

Anyone know the real scoop? If the X-works are dead, will they ship integrated stem/crowns with the Dorado DH? Give it more travel? Leave it the same?

There was a thread about this a few days ago... The SPV X-works Dorado is not going to be available next year, according to the guys at Go-Ride.

Yup:
180mm travel
32mm legs
forged crowns
TPC + Damping
That 's for sure

Our rep did say that they will have the stem too, but, you know,we'll see what they actually ship us.

Yeah it does sound like the x-werks is done. It sounds like I got one of the only ones that actually worked like it was supposed to. Mine was definetly the best fork I have ever owned. Oh well.

I was just looking at a 2005 answer catalogue and it lists the x-works in there. Said it has the spv evolve internals. It's kinda weird to make a catalogue and then change thier product line.

SHIVER, SHIVER, SHIVER, SHIVER!!!!! :blah:
RM is where people from MTBR come when they want advice and read decent threads. Rarely, if ever do you see a long-time MTBR memeber asking for advice on MTBR but it happens here alot.

i just had an order form sent to the shop and it still lists the x-works as an item being sold for 2005. there's the dorado x-works 200 with an msrp of about $1800 and the dorado DH 180 with an msrp of $1500. when i called up, i didn't ask about them so that's all the info i have
