Where is the trailhead for sully? MTBR says where Havenhurst and Mulholland there's a dirt lot. I'm looking on Google Maps and Havenhurst turns into Calneva and that intersect Mulholland.

Any tips on getting to the lot? I'm thinking getting off at Mulholland on the 405 and taking that West to Calneva. But this is int he middle of a neighborhood.

Get off Sunset from the 405 and head west.

For sure, there is a bit of loose rocks towards the end but you would have a blast on a HT.
but would you recommend a fully? or is it smooth enough for a HT?
i hear there is some climbage involved in the beginning, how bad is it?

i'm trying to decide which is best, as you tend to get more fatigued on a hardtail on longer DH runs, but the big rig is a pain to climb

I'd bring the fully. Wilson isn't crazy but are there are quite a few step downs and I think the fully will be more fun.

The climbing is easy. Nothing compared to the "loop".

I would bring the squish, Wilson gets quite rocky in some places and it felt epic but last time I rode, J brought the HT and killed it (but that isnt saying much cuz he could bring the HT anywhere and slaughter it).

There is def less climbing than the loop, but it still isnt easy as there are quite a few hike a bike spots.

i'm leaning towards the fully.. just have to suck it up on the climbs.
and you're right J kills it on the hardtail nomatter what, so that isn't really an example to judge from

btw.. are you guys 100% certain that Wilson access is going to be open this Sunday? (never mind the sh!tty air quality)

would suck to drive all the way out there just to be turned around

I think most of Angeles Nation Forest is closed on Extreme fire warning..

From what i can gather. I don't know the actual area and actual trail names and road names for mt wilson since I havent been there, so i cant really make a educated question for the forest service.

The one time I rode wilson, I rode my hardtail and had a lot of fun. It's all pretty smooth.
