Are the M770 and M771 cranks the same except for the chainrings?

Or is there any choices for 26/36 or 28/38 rings that have shift ramps?

Shimano.com has all your answers (771 comes with 26-36-48)

And what's up with the use of a Torx T30 bolt for the chainrings now? What was wrong with a hex wrench? I had to go and get a new tool on Saturday to change the chain rings around!

hahaha - keeping the hex-wrench makers from forming a monopoly in the bike industry. is the T30 different from brake rotor bolts?

T15 is for brake rotors, XTR needs a T30 and a T40. I still don't see if the crank arms them selves are different but I ordered the 26/36 rings.

    T25 is brake rotors.

T30 is what the 77x chainring bolts shimano cranks need from what i've seen.

771 composite middle middle rings have a slightly deeper profile that fits the "shelf" on the back of the spider.
Normal chainrings won't reach the shelf, but they fit fine with a bashguard in the big ring position.

The 770 arms themselves have a bulged shape.
