The last time I saw them I was in college, and that was... a long time ago.

Do oyu know if they are coming down this way (SoCal)?

They play in SoCal a lot...a lot of shows at the Anaheim House of Blues.

I haven't seen em in years and I'm super stoked to go. But I just got my hand out of a cast and I'm wondering if I should at least wrap it with an ace wrap...the pits get pretty crazy at Social D shows and the place where it is (the Catalyst in Santa Cruz) is a place that for some reason...everyone loves to fight at...there are always fights there...Place is cool though...I saw Sublimes second to last show there...SWEEEEET!

OH Not that I get into brawls but I have been slammed a time or two standing on the outskirts of a pit or being in the line of fire of a crowd scattering to get outta the way of a fight.

You know, I love Social D, but it's the exact same show every time I see them....same schtick, same set list. Seeing Mike Ness solo was pretty different and refreshing, but at this point, I feel like I might as well just sit at home and listen to Live at the Roxy really loud instead of bothering to go out and see them.

This may all be because I've seen them too many times, though.

I never go in the pits either...but sometimes they just break out where you're standing...I just realized...I'm leaving right after work to head over there...I forgot my shoes and I'm wearing flip flops...that sucks ass...I need to run home for my converse damnit...

I have seen them 3 times. Pretty much the case with me too. Since nobody ever seems to come here anymore I gotta drive and it sucks to see the same show as the last time. I like them but I feel no need to see them again......jdcamb

Touche...that is a very good point.

No need for a touche...no ones gonna rain on MY parade tonight! :D

but seriously...I don't think I've seen anyone new in a long ass time. I'm going to an old skool funk fest this weekend...The Gap Band, Midnight Star, Whodini, Sugar Hill Gang, Lakeside and Club Nouveau...should be fun...we have 2nd row center seats and the crowds at these annual funk fests are ummmm...lets just say the people watching at these shows kicks some serious ass...a good time will be had! I'll try and sneak my camera in to get some pics of the real true pimps that troll the show with their bishes...

They are coming here too...as are (is?) Soiuxe and the Banshees...

Also, the one show I am very, very upset that I have to miss...Public Enemy...playing a small venue on a Friday night...we NEVER EVER EVER EVER get Friday night shows...and I'm gonna be outta town...:mumble::mumble::mumble::mumble::mumble::mumble::mumble: I have been WAITING...WAITING I say...to see PE again...

I caught their show in '86 at a theater in downtown Santa Barbara. Love and Rockets opened the show.

Ahhhh... the 80's...........

Show was awesome!!! Tenille lost her shoes in the pit! I didn't sustain any injuries or lost shoes in the pit...but I guess some guy shoved her and her shoe went flyin off...then when she tried to hone in on it, someone kicked it and it was all over from there. Then she left the club (unbeknownst to me) and thought she might find a place where she could purchase shoes nearby at 11:30 on a Monday night...surprisingly enough, she did not...so she RAN back to the hotel to get her flip flops and ran back. Funny thing is...before we left for the show she was telling me how she'd lost her shoes at a Pennywise concert last year...

Who did they play with? I heard they're touring with Tiger Army this fall/winter. I've seen SD a couple of times, so I'm not too excited about them, but I really want to see Tiger Army.

edit: Sweet! They're coming Oct. 18th!

did they play any new songs? and if they did were they any good. you californians are lucky, you get to see SD whenever you want. they hardly ever come to washington.

For years I heard a little bit of their music & thought it was OK.
Then a few years ago I really listeded to the lyrics of Story of my Life
Great, just great...
"Life goes by so fast, You only want to do what you think is right.
Close your eyes and then it's past;
Story of my life"
