So, I rode at Bent Creek on Sunday. This was first time up there since the canes hit. Most of the "main trails" were fairly clear and in good condition.
They were a few GIANT trees down, but not enough to be much of a problem.
However, I climbed all the way up that Betty Heinous trail or whatever its called. The one marked by a pile of rocks way up in the middle of nowhere.
I am not sure if this trail is still open, but if it is, it shouldn't be.
Its totally worked and practically unridable.
So much water flooded down it, that it eroded to the point where your front wheel just disappears in holes, and its like this all the way down to the trail junction at the gravel road. Even that wide fast wide open bottom section was rutted enough to chunk ya over the bars in many places.
It was sad for sure.
Even the long climb up to this trail was real eroded from all the rain that flowed down it.
Anyway, this was just a heads up for anybody heading up there.
Also, whoever is doing the trail work up there is doing a great job.
I noticed they had to make alot of rock gardens for water routing.
I know that took a lot of time and effort.

Geez Jeremy pick up a shovel/pulaski or something already

Both the Heinous trails I believe are "Officially Closed" ever since they made all those changes at Bent Creek a while ago.

Have you ridden the Trace/Spencer/Fletcher area lately?

If you're riding then you need to BE RIDING at Windrock this Sunday. ;)
Yeah, I should have pointed out that I still have no business on a bicycle.
At one point, I honestly realized that I could not hold on and brake at the same time, so I just held on.

And Rob, I have not been to Trace lately.
Maybe soon.

And Biggins, I heard about that.
Isn't there also some plans to put in some trails?
That might be a good thing, because that rain really tore that place up.

I did climb back up to 5 points and hauled azz all the way down to where you hit those little jumps before the gravel road. I still love that trail. All those long sweeping corners that are naturally bermed. :thumb:
You have to pedal to keep up your speed on that, but it is still fun.

Ha Rob,
On those little drops, there is a trail on the right at the bottom that I wanted to take, so right before it, I swung up real high on the left bank using it as a berm, and missed all those water bars thingies. It was sweet, and it lined you up for the corner. :D

I like on trails with little waterbar drop thingies when you can go fast and gap over multiple ones. Like the end of bennet....which opens in 3ish days.
Hopefully we are gonna ride Bennet this weekend
