Regardless, I hope dw gets what it sounds like was written down on paper. As much as I hate advancement through litigation, the suit makes it sound like they ripped him off after he did the development work....although we all know how effective letters of intent are.

I didn't read the articles and I'm sure the judge will sort it out. If DW is going thru the expense to take Giant to court then he probably has good reason too.
On a personal level I think he's a great guy for the bike industry; he designs awesome suspension, he answers stupid questions from people like me about his bikes and he's stoked when you ask him.

It's always funny seeing people blame attorneys for (almost) all the evil in this world -- at least until they need one. Imagine how much it would suck if you had no legal recourse against being screwed over by your landlord, business partners, employees, ex-spouse, overly-rambunctious police officer, etc.
Quality attorneys may not be cheap, but neither is your average doctor, mechanic, CEO (insert any reasonably smart or skilled person). The reality is that the cost of legal representation usually tends to be proportionate to the emotional and/or financial investment that is at stake.
