mrs junkyard spent a good part of her childhood here. I’ve also been in the area a lot. Campo is most definitely a shit hole filled with tweakers and weirdos.Area looks nice, but the "town" is a bit of a shithole.
Are property taxes more moderate in your part of the world? 'Cause $10k in taxes on a $2.7 million property seems pretty reasonable, IMO.$9.5k in annual property taxes?
Interesting. At least here in the states, property taxes in a lot of states are the primary source of funding for public schools. And states vary *wildly* in the tax rate on property. They're called "Rates" in this part of the world and yes substantially less. in a city a $3m property I'd expect to pay say $2-2.5k
Rural is less, my place is circa $1m and I'm paying about $860 a year.
Definitely higher where I’m from… about 10x. Water and trash removal are included fwiw. School tax is separate. They're called "Rates" in this part of the world, and yes substantially less. In the city a $2.6m property I'd expect to pay say $2-2.5k

Good Lord, a prison has more color than that house.
white supremacy?
Quite a world we find ourselves in when an $860K house is considered a "starter" home.So this is a little different: https://redf.in/B31zm1
This is a house in the next town over that was recently totally renovated. This house sits on a site that was once a military base housing surface to air missiles during the Cold War/WW2. This housing facility sat empty for a huge amount of time, and now the houses are being fixed up and sold off for what is (for this region) a reasonable price. The missile site has been turned into a soccer field. This is all in a very nice neighborhood surrounded by 1.5-2.5 million dollar houses in a great school district in an awesome area. IMO this is a great solution to the housing crisis- this is a good starter home but it’s not the totally misplaced low-income housing that sometimes occurs Either. I would have bought one of these if they were available back when.
The new best western sized place being built near us has metal panels on the outside that are rusty from the outset. Not a look I'm a fan of.nice pool
interesting look with standing seam metal everywhere
